Dear Friends,
Christmas Eve at New Providence UMC will look a bit different this year due to the continued need for social distancing and extra safety precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We will not be having the same kind of crowded traditional service we have had in the past. However, we will be having a “come as you are” communion at the manger between 5:00 – 7:00 pm on December 24th. That means you can come with your families any time during those two hours.
One family at a time will be able to come to the manger for prayer and communion and the alters will be sanitized in between each group. Enjoy the scriptures of the Christmas story and music in the back pews until you are ready to come to the manger. The sanctuary will be lit with the warm glow of candlelight.
I pray you will enjoy the journey to the manger as the shepherds did on that first Christmas night so long ago.
Peace and Love,
Pastor Jodi
